One serious Slayer fan has decided to give a whole new meaning — and spelling — to ‘slay bells’ this holiday season. The admitted 20-year fan synced up festive holiday lights on his house to Slayer’s ‘Reign in Blood.’

While we throw two very enthusiastic thumbs up to his creative and metallic endeavor and would rather listen to Kerry King’s monster riffing rather than ‘Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer’ any day, we wouldn’t want to live next door to this house. The lights are frenetic and intense as the blink in rhythm with the beats. And even though the flashing bulbs might cause you to have a seizure, it’s all in the name of rock.

It’s also interesting to note that this Slayer fan posted the video via his daughter’s YouTube account, so this clip lives among those of Justin Bieber. Touché.

Metallica has always been known for their unique stage set ups and props — in the current tour, balloons cover the stage during a point. It’s intended to bring the larger-than-life band closer to their fans, as it creates excitement, but sometimes fans get a little too close to the stage. During Metallica’s performance in Sydney, Australia last week, a child was too close to the action, accidentally getting guitarist Kirk Hammett’s boot to the face as he was kicking black balloons.
